Calvary Baptist Church extends two Scholarships to members who pursue Higher Education.
Bessie V. Avant Leadership Scholarship Awards***
A $500 Scholarship will be awarded to a limited number of high school seniors with strong leadership qualities, who plan to pursue Higher Education for the current school year. This aware will be given in honor of the late Reverend Bessie V. Avant, who was a great leader, advisor, evangelist, missionary, and public speaker, who appealed to many young men and women, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Dorothy O. Liffridge Education Scholarship Awards***
A $500 Scholarship will be awarded to a limited number of high school seniors who plan to pursue Higher Education for the current school year. This award will be given in honor of the late Dorothy O. Liffridge, who was a great public speaker, educator of Dover, and member of Calvary Baptist Church.

The African-American Women in Computer Science (AAWCS) program provides financial, academic and professional support to women enrolled in the Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) department at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, in an effort to:

Florida A & M University is providing an outstanding opportunity for Black women entering college in the fall of 2009. It is designed to address their absence in the field of computer technology. Dr. Jason Black is the Principal Investigator of a recently awarded $552,000 NSF Grant entitled African-American Women in Computer Science. The grant provides scholarships from $4000 to $10,000 per year for female African American students.
We need your help to get the word out about this great opportunity to build back up the enrollment of women in the CIS Department.
